CELEBRATING DIA DE LOS MUERTOS IN MEXICO CITY

We spent the weekend in Mexico City celebrating Dia de los Muertos, one of Mexico’s biggest holidays (after Christmas) in the country’s biggest city. It. Was. Awesome. The only thing that *wasn’t* great was we had a slight mishap with our camera (the microphone was not on the entire two days we were filming) sooooo we had to get creative in using our footage. 🤦‍♂️ Hope you enjoy it nonetheless!

  1. Mic was off!!! 🙂 Love how raw your footage is. Refreshing change from the curated, formulaic Youtubers who all start out as real as you guys.

  2. Great footage and hey Travis! You're forgiven – I'm so glad you decided to go ahead with the video it worked just fine! See you Thursday…

  3. So glad you were able to experience Dia de los Muertos in DF! We were there at the same time as you. The Coyoacan festival at night was twice as crowded!

  4. Very interesting. Personally, I prefer to celebrate the day of the living men, haha….Warm greetings from Buenos Aires, Argentina

  5. Being in Mexico city for Dia de los Muertos would have been an amazing experience! Losing that audio worked out well as you put together a really nicely narrated video. Either way, you both are always so fun to watch 😀

  6. I was in MXCD for the weekend too. A gorgeous man approached me near the Zocalo and I was non responsive to him because I'm a dum dum. He is probably my soulmate and I blew him off and will never see him again.

  7. Next time you are in CDMX, come visit Cuernavaca. Mi casa es su casa. I have two guest bedrooms. I have lived here for more than six years! I would be happy to show you around.

  8. Not all Mexicans Celebrate the Dead – that's idiotic just thinking about it – nor do we celebrate that the dead are in the underworld-hades-hell, starving, thirsty and having had to kill a dog, to ride the one to cross a river, and cross 9 terrifying planes, to reach a marriage of gods that asks them for the food and offerings that they took … do not drag the dignity and intelligence of several …

  9. I think the video turned out to be just perfect! This could be a new window of your videos style. Thanks again for sharing your experience in Mexico 🇲🇽

  10. Supeeer, it´s great that you went to Mexico City for Dia de los Muertos. Don´t forget to try visiting Cafe el Jarocho in Coyoacán (right Parque Hidalgo), and visit Ciudad Universitaria, in case you haven´t yet. Great video, I actually like it as is.

  11. FUN FACT..DIA DE MUERTOS ALTER IS PUT IN LEVELS LIKE STAIRS REPRESENTING LIFE CYCLE..COLORS TOO REPRESENT BLACK IS THE WOMB, BIRTH IS RED, GREEN CHILDHOOD, YELLOW TEENS, BLUE ADULTHOOD INTELLIGENCE SKY'S THE LIMIT AND WHITE GRAY HAIR ..BONES

  12. Awwww…. That was Awesome guys! Really enjoyed the voice overs, so do that more often… And the Face Painting was soo cool. For those of us that are traveling with you from our desks, you can just let the camera run, drop a narration over the top, and call it a day! Cheers!! T

  13. Thanks for the great videos guys! I always say, Mexico City is the most underrated big city in the world. We love it!

  14. Hi Guys! Hi Travis… It will be OK… LOL!! I'm so excited, I had to make popcorn at 10 am to watch this one!!! XOXOXOX. Much Love from SOFLO. Stay safe out there. 😉 T

  15. Hi guys, I enjoy your video very interesting, it wasn't so bad, I rather like it that way and talk over the video so I can see what was going on, Instead of listening to loud noise while doing a video. I'm glad you guys did the whole nine yards pretty cool video I love it Thank you guys stay safe.🤗

  16. Your video was fabulous with your post adventure commentary. Y’all are still inspiring me for travels in retirement or before then. Keep up the amazing content!

  17. Here in Ajijic today, they are supposed to have a horse parade, and a lighting of candles on a wall of skulls that's on one of the buildings.

  18. Awww. You guys are making me nostalgic. I was in Mexico City for Dia de Muertos with friends in 2019. Absolutely incredible! Saw many parades. It was a little rainy that year, so we watched one of them from a restaurant up too looking down on the zocolo. Was there for 10 days, so made it to Frida’s house, Xochimilco, Puebla, and a great Dia de muertos in mixiquic. My friends just got back from seeing Bauhaus there. Countin down the months till I get there to Merida. Thanks for all your videos (sound or not 😁) that keep me excited!

  19. Thrilled that you guys made it to Casa Azul! Thank you for sharing all the awesome footage. Enjoying vicariously your life and travels in Mexico ❤️💋

  20. Argh! I was in Coyoacan and the Día de Muertos parade at the same time you were and in the same general area, how did I not see you guys?!?! I would have said hi. 🙂 Next time, stay one extra day and go to Mixquic for the night of 1 November.

  21. That’s so cool you guys got to finally visit Frida Khalo‘s home!! Bucket list item!! Jajajaja!!! We are celebrating our first Dia de Muertos her in PV and are very excited. Tomorrow is the biggest day!! Keep ‘em coming guys!! Can’t wait to see where you go next!
