🇲🇽 CÓCORIT & ESPERANZA, SONORA | Mexico's Most PEACEFUL Pueblitos? | Ciudad OBREGÓN | Mexico Travel

🇲🇽 CÓCORIT & ESPERANZA, SONORA – For Part 14 of my 2022 Mexico Travel Series we are still based in Ciudad Obregón in the state of Sonora in Northern Mexico, but this time we’re heading out of the town to one of the local Yaqui towns (an indigenous people in Mexico) called Cócocit as well as it’s neighbour, the pretty regular town of Esperanza. Are these two of Mexico’s most peaceful small towns? (pueblitos)

Cócocit has history in relation to the Yaqui, an indigenous group stretching all the way up to Arizona. They do a deer dance symbolising the relationship between nature and people. I went on a Monday afternoon (purposely) when it was extremely quiet, obviously going at the weekend would have been better if I had wanted to see people or go to the museum. Despite that, I cover some of the things to do in Cócorit.

We have some classic comida Mexicana (Mexican food) – Obispos, a cross between nieves and raspados. We also get a sense of what small towns in Mexico are like!

If you’re thinking of becoming an expat in Mexico or moving to Mexico, northern Mexico is an option! Don’t just think Guanajuato is your only option! Is Mexico safe? Is Mexico dangerous? Nowhere is safe!

  1. 🇺🇸 Hola amigos! The deeper meaning in this video is about how in life, we can end up hating something the longer we do it, but ultimately, we will end up missing it (missing as in having fond memories, not missing a museum LOL). More videos coming up from Sonora including San Carlos, Guaymas, Navojoa and Hermosillo, although the next one will be a 'Mexico Half-Distance' sit-down talking video. I have major news!

🇲🇽¡Hola amigos! ¡Tengo noticias importantes!

  2. Absolutely great videos. I love your authenticity. Back in the 90's I traveled a lot through Mexico by bus. I love these little towns. I'm married now to a Salvadoran woman. It's a great country. Have you thought about going there?
    Saludos desde Long Beach CA.

  3. I was today eating breakfast at El Rincón Encantado. I live in both countries, USA and Mexico, Cd Obregón and that restaurant is, so far the best restaurant I am been . Just amazing!!!

  4. YOU TOTALLY MISSED THE MOST BEAUTIFUL TOWN IN SONORA AND MOST LIKEKLY IN NORTHERN Mexico..ALAMOS SONORA PUEBLO MAGICO…one of the most beautiful magic towns in the whole country..50 km up the mountain from Navojoa

  5. Great video! Sonora becomes a whole ghost place during summer mornings and afternoons cuz of the heat. It definitely comes back to life close to the sunset hours, just not on mondays hahaha.

  6. Hola David. No worries. I always enjoy your videos..I didn't think your spotlight was off. Once you are off the air, I will miss your videos of Mexico….take care

  7. Sorry bro, i’m of Obregón, cocorit and esperanza the are one of the towns with the most shootings 🙁

  8. COCORIT PUEBLO
    MAGIA Y TRADICCION
LA NOVIA DE LOS 8 PUEBLOS YAQUIS.
QUE GUSTO VER A UN EXTRANJERO DISFRUTANDO DE MI BELLO ESTADO SANORA… QUE EN SIGNIFICA SEÑORA.

  9. These slow burn videos that you say are a disaster are the best ones. Because nothing is happening, it all seems more natural and the cinematography seems that much better.

No mal informes

  11. Cd.

  13. thanks for visiting there, I was born in ciudad Obregón, but I grew up in cocorit and esperanza

  14. unusual places indeed, thats nice you visited, those towns sleeps until later afternoon,i am myself from esperanza, cheers from paris!
